SEATTLE WASHINGTON - King County prosecutors have filed charges against a 29-year-old man suspected of secretly recording lewd footage of female passengers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport where he worked as a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent.
Nicholas J. Fernandez, of Tukwila, was charged Thursday with one count of voyeurism, court records show.
Authorities arrested him and booked him into the Regional Justice Center (RJC) in Kent on Tuesday after watching him take phone images from underneath a female passenger’s skirt as they were on an escalator, charges say.
Before the arrest, a TSA special agent and Port of Seattle police began monitoring Fernandez after learning of his alleged inappropriate behavior when someone complained to the media, court records show.
Authorities raised his bail to $20,000, charges say, from the original $7,500 amount because Fernandez “abused his position of authority” and the crime does “not appear to be a one-time incident.”
His arraignment is Aug. 4 at the RJC, according to Dan Donohoe, King County prosecutor’s spokesman.
