(RIVERSIDE) A “major cannabis distributor to high school students” who had become the target of a two-year narcotics investigation was arrested Friday morning at his west suburban Riverside home. Cory T. Dokousian, 22, has been charged with manufacture and delivery of cannabis and possession of cannabis, both felonies, according to a statement from Riverside police. He also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. About 9 a.m. Friday, Riverside police and the Major Case Assistance Team executed a search warrant at Dokousian’s home in the 3600 block of Vernon Avenue in Brookfield, police said. “Investigators recovered 70 grams of cannabis packaged and ready for delivery, drug paraphernalia and tools for processing, preparing and cutting cannabis for resale,” police said. Authorities began the narcotics investigation in 2014, police said. Dokousian was home at the time the warrant was served and attempted to dispose of the cannabis in the sump pump of his basement while fighting with officers. Dokousian was selling “the majority” of the cannabis to Riverside Brookfield High School students, “who would come to a window in the rear basement of his home, where the transaction would take place,” Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel said in the statement. Police said no drug transactions took place on school grounds. The drug investigation is ongoing and police said more arrests are possible in the upcoming months. Dokousian, whose criminal history includes theft, drugs and assault was also arrested in October 2015 by Elmwood Park police for the manufacture and delivery of cannabis. On Saturday, he was ordered held in Cook County Jail on a $10,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s office. Dokousian is next scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
